Join us for a live recording of Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson’s What If We Get It Right? Podcast. This season, acclaimed journalist and activist Bill McKibben is joining her as co-host, and they’ll  dig into the politics of climate solutions, the midterm elections, and how the planet can win.

 

This episode will feature two guests focused on nature conservation:

 

Protect Our Winters CEO, Erin Sprague, will join us to discuss how POW uses the connection to the outdoors as a unifier and motivator for politician engagement.


Patagonia's Chief Impact and Communications Officer, Corley Kenna, will give us a sneak peek into the company’s upcoming efforts to help to mobilize voters in the midterm election. HINT: It is the company’s most ambitious election campaign ever!

Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a marine biologist, policy expert, and writer. She is co-founder of the non-profit think tank Urban Ocean Lab, and a distinguished scholar at Bowdoin College. Ayana authored The New York Times bestseller What If We Get it Right?: Visions of Climate Futures, work that is carried on with her newsletter and podcast of the same name.

Erin Sprague is the CEO of Protect our Winters (POW), where she helps outdoor enthusiasts protect the places and experiences they love from climate change. Previously, Erin built world-class brands in the outdoor industry as the Chief Brand Officer at Aspen Skiing Company; VP of Marketing at Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Sport; and Global Head of Women’s Brand and Product at Specialized Bicycles.

Corley Kenna is the chief impact and communications officer at Patagonia, where she is responsible for the development and execution of Patagonia’s global communication strategy and the advancement of key policy issues related to the company’s business and advocacy priorities. She has over twenty years of experience working in government, politics, and the private sector.

Bill McKibben


Bill McKibben is an author, environmentalist, and activist. In 1989, he published The End of Nature, the first book for a common audience about global warming. Bill is founder of the nonprofit Third Act, which organizes people over the age of sixty for action on climate and justice, and a co-founder and senior advisor emeritus at 350.org, a climate campaign that works in 188 countries.
